Bug Description

I use Polish locale with iso8859-2 (mc doesn't work properly with Polish and UTF-8)

There are several issues:
1. copying from writer to impress: Polish characters are lost (copying from
writer to writer works ok; string "ąśęśćł" in writer becomes "±¶ę¶ćł" in
impress). However, this may be
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=42346

2. copying from gedit to writer and impress: Polish characters are lost (ie:
string "ąśęśćł" in gedit becomes "\u0105\u015b\u0119\u015b\u0107\u0142" in OOo2)

When locale is set to UTF-8, problem 2 does not exist.

Seems to be ok, however I'm not sure whether I generated iso8859-2 locale properly.

In Warty/Hoary/Breezy it was a matter of reconfinguring locales, in Dapper there is no interaction (only UTF-8 locales are created). I've used "sudo locale-gen pl_PL". I have "Polish" and "Polish (UTF)" sessions now.

If "Polish" means ISO, it works ok (problems 1 and 2 are gone).

Thank you. Closing this bug since your problem has now been resolved by the newer package. You can optionally file a new bug if you find the new system for listing the locales confusing.
