Bug Description

evolution: ../../src/xcb_lock.c:33: _XCBUnlockDisplay: Assertion `xcb_get_request_sent(dpy->xcb->connection) == dpy->request' failed.

See #185311. Trying the workaround mentioned there (export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1) didn't make it work. Here it's been happening on Intrepid alpha4 since an update around 2008-08-16.
uname -a:
Linux razor 2.6.26-5-generic #1 SMP Fri Aug 15 13:54:22 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Backtrace attached.

Hi ockham-razor,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? (ISOs are available from cdimage.ubuntu.com)

If it remains an issue, could you also attach a new /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
Thanks in advance.

The output of lspci -vvnn would also be worth having.

Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.

This is still an issue. I've compiled the latest LordsAWar game on the officially released Intrepid with today's patches. I'm seeing this error and it's causing the game to abort.

lordsawar: ../../src/xcb_lock.c:33: _XCBUnlockDisplay: Assertion `xcb_get_request_sent(dpy->xcb->connection) == dpy->request' failed.
Aborted

Thanks!

Can confirm, that this is still an issue on several intrepid amd64 machines.

Evolution crashes reproducibly when pressing the "Choose Today" button in the calndar view. I don't seem to be getting any backtraces - just the before mentioned error message when i start evo from the console.

is there any way to debug that problem any further?

I can confirm this bug! I am not possible to see any of my calendars in evolution, it crashes all the time with:

evolution: ../../src/xcb_lock.c:33: _XCBUnlockDisplay: Assertion `xcb_get_request_sent(dpy->xcb->connection) == dpy->request' failed.
Aborted
