Bug Description

kde-l10n-ml version 4:4.1.0-0ubuntu1 in intrepid depends on language-pack-kde-wa, but the Malayalam language has no relation with the language Walloon. Hence this dependency might not be correct and need to be removed.

I am hereby attaching the debdiff ()kde-l10n-ml_4.1.0-0ubuntu2.debdiff) with the change of removing the language-pack-kde-wa to this bug report. Thanks.

The language pack dependency needs to be replaced with the proper language pack, not just removed.

Thanks for letting me know of that. I have replaced the language-pack-kde-wa with the appropriate language pack for ml, but there are two packages: [1] language-pack-ml ( KDE translation updates for language Malayalam ) and [2] language-pack-kde-ml-base ( KDE translations for language Malayalam ). I have attached the debdiff with both of these added as dependencies replacing the wrong one (language-pack-kde-wa). Hope it is correct, please let me know if it's not. Thanks again :)

Please recreate the debdiff without depending on language-pack-kde-ml-base, language-pack-kde-ml depends on -base so it's not necessary to depend on it directly. In fact this would make the package different from the other kde-l10n's making it more difficult to maintain.

Thank you.

Harald,

Thanks for the correction. I got the latest source of kde-l10n-ml which is 4.1.0-0ubuntu2. This has changed the dependency from language-pack-kde-wa to language-pack-kde-ml (and language-pack-kde-ml-base has been excluded). But the changelog still lists my comment as per last debdiff that 'language-pack-kde-ml and language-pack-kde-ml-base are added as dependencies'. Shall I leave it as it is?

Yeah, Riddell was kind enough to remove the -base and upload.

I'll leave the bug open because I also need to get the issue fixed in the hardy packages.
