Bug Description

Using a Ubuntu 5.10 install disc in rescue mode, grub refuses to run, citing a
missing bterm as the cause.

I doubt this was ever a bad CD burn. Sounds like grub was having trouble with $TERM.

That was a long time ago. To see if the bug still exists, take a liveCD
and go into rescue mode. Then, call grub, and see if it complains about
a missing bterm. I remember that, instead of the interactive prompt, I
had to use command line switches to do what I had to do.
