Deleting unread emails causes incorrect message counts

Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdepim

If I delete unread messages in kmail, for example by selecting multiple messages so they don't individually get marked as read, kmail will include the deleted, unread messages in the unread message count for the given IMAP folder. It takes some time for it to happen, and it only happens if I select a folder other than the folder in question and leave it that way. But it happens very reliably. Closing kontact/kmail and restarting it fixes it until the next time.

thanks for reporting this bug. To find the source of the problem could you provide a little more information.
What version of Kubuntu are you running?
What version of kmail?
What version of KDE?

I tried to reproduce this in Intrepid with KDE4.1.1 and was unable to do so. I selected a group of unread e-mails and deleted them as you described. In my case kmail correctly calculated the unread mail count for the folder. Do you still observe this bug
