Bug Description
When packaging bzr for the ppa archives, please rename the upstream tarball to (e.g.) bzr_1.6~
and then use "debuild -I.bzr -i.bzr -S" or so to build the source package, since debian/.bzr cannot be correctly represented in the diff (contains binary files), and shouldn't really be there for the source package anyway.
That way the differences between upstream and ubuntu are more clear. (and the package becomes importable from debian, which does (correctly) use the .orig.tar.gz file)
thanks,
lamont

I believe beuno will be doing this for the bzr-1.6rc3 and 1.6-final packaging, and we should have updated documentation for the 1.7 release so whoever does that knows how to do the right thing.
I certainly would like to get a lot more of the "release to ppa" steps automated, because right now there is a lot of manual effort to make a release. Going into time-based releases, this is around 2 releases every month (rc1, final). And it can kill a whole day of a dev's time for each.
