Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-image
I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 but I was often experimenting kernel panics (I think) I couldn't use the tty consoles or restart Gnome and o had to press the restart button. The problem was solved when i move from th generic kernel image to the 386 kernel image. The kernel panics happened anytime most of the time while using Firefox or Rhythmbox.

This bug was reported against the linux-meta package when it likely should have been reported against the linux package instead. We are automatically transitioning this to the linux kernel package so that the appropriate teams are notified and made aware of this issue. Thanks.
