chat windows is not being repainted automatically

Binary package hint: pidgin

after being sent or received a new message doesn't appear in chat window.
although, it appears after, f.e. right-clicking on chat window (if popup menu is tracked).
i guess the bug is in window repaint routine, cuz every time window is being repainted all messages become visible.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, it still is in Ubuntu 8.10. It doesn't depend on Visual Effects or something. I'm going to look at sources and maybe provide some additional info.

I got also problems with repainting of the message window. After minimizing and unminimizing the window, all written and typed message are visible

The error occurs only with compiz fusion running as window manager. Pidgin works fine (windows will be repainted), if I've turned compiz fusion off.

I can't confirm thing with compiz: i got it always off but bug is still occurs.
