Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please try to obtain a valgrind log following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind and attach the file to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem.

Not sure if this will help, or related, but sound-juicer died on opening while I was trying to get a Valgrind, but I'll attach it anyway and try to get another Valgrind of then original problem.

the valgrind log has no error do you still get the issue using the current version?

I just reinstalled it on a fairly free Intrepid install (I didn't know it wasn't installed by default now), and after the first CD I ripped it crashed with the same error. I'll try to get another valgrind log. Is there anything else I can get?

I'm in the process of getting another valgrind, but it says it'll take 740hours and increasing hours to finish ripping the CD. I'm also getting a lot of the following errors on the console:

scsi_read error: sector=43790 length=1 retry=8
                 Sense key: 0 ASC: 0 ASCQ: 2
Transport error: Illegal SCSI request (rejected by target)
                 System error: Invalid argument

Hi, i've hit the same bug (crash on eject after finishing ripping), but this occured only on 2 CDs out of 3. I will try to get a valgrind log soon.

Here is the log. The crash has happened 2 times out of 2 tryes, on the same CD. I will try more. Do I need to install -dbg packages and redo the log ?

Re,

Here is the log with the more dbg package I could find.

One important info : the crash only occur on some CDs, and only occur if the destination directory doesn't exist before rip starts ; if I start SJ over and rerip the CD which triggered the crash without deleting the dest dir, the program ask me if I want to overwrite the files, then rips and doesn't crash.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Happened with one CD I ripped and hadn't been created locally. I'll try again tonight to get another valgrind :-)

8.10 has reached end of life. I don't suppose you can still reproduce this on 12.04 or newer?
