Unmounting removable media such as USB mass storage always results in error

Bug Description

Since it appears Nautilus always tries to eject media after unmounting it from
"Computer", unmounting media for which eject does not apply to, such as USB mass
storage always results in a rather obscure error message. Is there no way
through HAL that Nautilus can know that the device isn't ejectable?

Thanks for your bug. What kind of media do you try to umount? That works fine
with an USB key here. What version of Ubuntu do you use?

Hi

I'm using Ubuntu Breezy 5.10.

The thing I was unmounting was a HDD with vfat on it, connected via a USB
external-harddrive cradle.

I can confirm this bug.

When unmounting my portable Ogg Vorbis player (aka mp3 player) I get the
following message:

   Unmount Error
   Unable to eject media

and under details:

eject: unable to eject, last error: Invalid argument"

It sounds very likely that Nautilus not only unmounts it but also tries to eject
it. I use Dapper Drake Flight 1 + daily updates.

Sebastien, you are right about the fact that the problem does not appear when
unmounting USB keys.
