menuQ3(): read command does not use specified pathname

Bug Description
r test.txt prints error:
"
r test.txt
:
?
"
before the colon (":") should be the name of the file that could not be read.
Clearly it is a null filename hence not being able to read it.
Therefore user inputted string is not correctly passed, probably in method menuQ3()
