Bug Description

Binary package hint: goplay

Ubuntu Release: Hardy Heron
Package version: 0.2-1build1

What I expected to happen: Being able to browse/search games, read descriptions and see a preview screenshots.

What happened instead: After launching goplay for the first time, it opened a popup window saying that it requires manual ept-cache reindex on the first start. Hence I did following:

> sudo ept-cache reindex

Reading current timestamp failed: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/lib/apt-xapian-index/update-timestamp'. Assuming the index has not been created yet.
Rebuilding Xapian index: done.

After launching the program again, I got an empty window with no games descriptions, see attachment.

same here. How is one supposed to run goplay? Anything else needed to set it up?

I can confirm that goplay fails to show any results in intrepid and jaunty. Setting bug to confirmed and added bug tracker for the debian bug.

It's working for me with updated 9.04. Can someone confirm it?

After running sudo ept-cache reindex, it works fine for me in jaunty (both on a fresh install and upgrade (which already had goplay)).

While the debian bug report is fixed and the package synced in precise (12.04), I am still getting the same issue here.

It looks like this works, but the packages get updated once a day or so.

I installed the same 64bit 12.04 on my PC and laptop. Goplay was empty on both, found this page and tried the fix
sudo ept-cache reindex
command not found.

Relaunched goplay on my PC and it now shows a bunch of games.
Tried the same on my laptop, same result, but it is still blank.

I tried installing axi-cache, and checked the man page but did not see anything for reindex.
I removed and re-installed goplay to no avail.
What gives?
