Bug Description

on kubuntu 8.04.1 with KDE4.1 x86_64. After a random amount of time (anything from few hours to a day or two) after login in the "application launcher menu" (and the "application launcher" as wel) widget stops working, it still looks fine and displays all the normal apps etc but when clicking on the app name to launch them does nothing. This applies only to shortcuts in sub menus ie. firefox kate etc, not to the shortcuts in the base menu like "help", "switch user", "logout", etc.

using Alt-F2, or launching apps from the console works 100%.

Restarting the X server fixes the problem

I have not experienced this with KDE 4.1.1 in Intrepid. It seems the update fixed this.

Those who are wanting to try out KDE 4, please do so in Intrepid (the alpha works pretty ok) but not Hardy. Many problems are there in Hardy probably due to the nitty gritties of backporting and coexisting with KDE 3. Intrepid is fully KDE 4 based and is so better supportive of KDE 4. The Application Launcher works here. Maybe this bug can be closed.
