Bug Description

Binary package hint: osm2pgsql

The failure occurs with osm2pgsql 0.08-20071112 which comes with Hardy. The error I get is
"failed: ERROR: VACUUM cannot be executed from a function or multi-command string" and I have set autovacuum to off in postgresql.conf already. When I install osm2pgsql 0.52.20080408-2 provided on https://launchpad.net/~bruce89/+archive everything works just fine.

I can confirm this bug. This is a major problem IMHO because osm2pgsql (the programme provided by this package) is effectivly broken and totally non-functionional.

Is this problem still reproducible?

Thanks

I don't know if that problem is still reproducible, but this one certainly is: http://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/dev/2009-July/016133.html. Note the advice at the bottom: roll your own. Compiling from source solved *that* problem. I conjecture there's been a change in the data format between the two versions.

Also note the dates on the email and in the package.

This is using Jackalope, as updated daily.

Please update to the latest stable.
