When playing shorten files rhythmbox crashes after playing around 1:10. gdb tells me the following:

This bug has been in all recent versions, can't say for sure when it was introduced. Shortly after the static and noises went away. I'M running latest intrepid.

I converted all my shn files to flac using flacify from etree scripts http://etree-scripts.sourceforge.net. Seems to be a short time solution until the bug gets fixed.
