High CPU usage when idle & lid closed

Bug Description

1) Release: Ubuntu 8.04 - Hardy Heron (up to date 03-Aug-2008)

2) Package unknown

When the user:

1. Has a beautiful laptop (i.e. Dell XPS M1330)
2. Closes lid
3. Visits to some friends to watch a 1080p shitty movie
4. Has a few beers
5. Hosts do not hold an ashtray
6. User confuses empty beer can ad-hoc ashtray with current can
7. Tries not to offend hosts by thrashing the poisoned can
8. Comes home pissed a few hours later
9. Opens lid
10. Looks at computer

3) Should occur:
Nice gnome desktop, cold computer

4) Occurs:
50% CPU on a Core2 Duo silently sneaks away from the System Monitor, hot computer

Short open/close cycles do not hog the CPU.

Medium open/close (having a smoke) cycle does not hog the CPU.

Turn off it if its not necessary to be up. Handle it with care.
