Bug Description

I have Installed Spanish (Castillan) in Language Support (gnome-language-selector) and Firefox remains in English. I checked in apt-cache and Firefox locales weren't installed, although Language Support completed successfully and if I open it again it doesn't complain about being incomplete or something.

emilio@pcjuan:~$ apt-cache policy mozilla-firefox-locale-es-es
mozilla-firefox-locale-es-es:
  Instalados: (ninguno) <------- Not Installed
  Candidato: 2.0.0.7+1-0ubuntu4
  Tabla de versión:
     2.0.0.7+1-0ubuntu4 0
        500 http://ar.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/universe Packages

emilio@pcjuan:~$ apt-cache policy mozilla-firefox-locale-es-ar
mozilla-firefox-locale-es-ar:
  Instalados: (ninguno) <------- Not Installed
  Candidato: 2.0.0.7+1-0ubuntu4
  Tabla de versión:
     2.0.0.7+1-0ubuntu4 0
        500 http://ar.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/universe Packages

Firefox Version: 3.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu2

By the way, I'm using Intrepid Ibex, updated up to today, 6th of September, 2008

EDIT: I installed both packages manually and Firefox still remains in English, the versions of the locales installed are the same as above (2.0.0.7+1-0ubuntu4). If you see in Firefox, it complains the versions installed are not compatible. Maybe they need to get updated too?

Sorry, I meant it doesn't appear. The spanish version is old, as you can see in the addons window.

The firefox translation packages you mentioned are for firefox2 and
won't work with firefox3. The translations for firefox3 come with the
regular language-packs. However, it seems that the translations in the
current language-pack (for firefox 3.0) get rejected by firefox 3.0.1.
We are currently rebuilding language-packs for Intrepid and expect to
have them ready on Monday. Those should then contain the correct
translations for firefox3.

Due to a technical problem, they have not been updated yet. Please stay
tuned.
