Bug Description

I discovered that when I create files on my desktop from the terminal they do not appear. Later on I tested in nautilus and the problem seems to be more general. To recreate the problem:

nautilus . &
touch some-file

Check the contents of the directory given by nautilus and some-file will not be there until you refresh (F5).

thanks for the report, that works fine here for me with Intrepid, is this still an issue for you? Did you try to recreate the same with a new created user in your system? over which filesystem are you creating the files? thanks.

I just tried it with a new user and it works fine. The issue is only on my own user which has been there before the update. Is there a setting which I can change? I am using a separate ext3 partition for /home.

does gvfs-monitor works fine in the directory that nautilus doesn't update correctly?

I ran "gvfs-monitor-dir" and it doesn't crash. It blocks and does not exit until I kill it. Is this "fine"?

does it list events for changes in the directory?

I tried it and right now gvfs-monitor-dir works and so does nautilus. I believe it is one of the recent updates that fixed the issue? Have there been similar problems previously?

GNOME has been updated to a new version, maybe that's fixed, closing the bug but feel free to reopen if you get the issue again though

I would like to reopen this bug since the issue has occurred again. It does not happen on the Desktop as before but in any directory I browse with nautilus. I am running Januty, so most probably the title should be modified.

I am sorry for the confusion. It seems I am no longer able to reproduce this bug. I will reopen it later if this happens again and do the gvfs tests. Thank you.
