Thank you for reporting this bug. Is there anything special about the files or the directorys involved in this copy, for example special character or network filesystems?

Thank you for your attention, mcas! The files were pdf-files with only ascii-characters (no special characters). I tried to move them from my Desktop to a just newly created folder called "pdf".

While I could reproduce this crash with dolphin, I was able to use drag & drop in the plasma folder view with exactly these files. Everything went well there.

Is this still an issue with KDE 4.1.1?

thanks for work and asking! This seems indeed to be fixed for me at least here in KDE 4.1.1 - I was able to move some selected files around.

I still have the same error on a current Intrepid system on amd64. Dolphin crashes, when I drag a file into a folder, shortly after the context menu for choosing the action (move, copy, link) pops up.

I activated the intrepid-backports repository and upgraded to KDE 4.1.3 hoping that the problem would have been fixed there, but I still experience the same crash when moving files into a folder.
