Bug Description

Binary package hint: terminal

I was trying to install a program, (vmware), but was asked to login as Superuser. However, it doesn't take my password as "Root". I tried a number of different possibilities, but no luck. Is there a default setting, or can it be reset?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This does not appear to be a bug report and we are closing it. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise your question in the support tracker. Please visit https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+addquestion

It might be worth noting that Ubuntu has disabled the root (or superuser) password and uses the sudo command instead. For details on its usage and security implications, please seehttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo for details.
