Bug Description

Binary package hint: xulrunner-1.9

Firefox fails to load the python loader XPCOM component.

Two errors are visible in the Error Console upon starting Firefox
"Failed to load XPCOM component: /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.0.1/components/libpyloader.so"
"Failed to load XPCOM component: /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.0.1/components/pyabout.py"

Both files exist on the file system.

This is on 1.9.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.2 on hardy.
I believe this worked fine on the version immediately before 1.9.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.2.

Also affects xulrunner-1.9.1.5 on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic, but slightly different. The error messages are visible only in the Error Console, otherwise everything seems to go fine.

opening http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml results:
------------------

Failed to load XPCOM component: /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.1.5/components/py_test_component.py

and a myriad of error messages like:

I am also have this problem:

Failed to load XPCOM component: /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.1.5/components/py_test_component.py
Failed to load XPCOM component: /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.1.5/components/pyabout.py

but my errors come up with non-responsive js....
chrome://Global/content/contentAreaUtils.js:813
chrome:// /tabbrowser.xml:313
chrome:// /bindings/richlistbox.xml:306

Causes foxfire to crash or run extremely slow...It was difficult to get to this page...
Tried firebug, but I get no love...

Any recommendations?
Thanks a million!

The messages occur once every three seconds. This makes for a lot of noise in the error console.

Mine is the same basic error (new version listed in the path of the XPCOM component):
"Failed to load XPCOM component: /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.1.7/components/libpyloader.so"
"Failed to load XPCOM component: /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.1.7/components/pyabout.py"

I am running Ubuntu 9.10 x64 with all the latest updates.
My Firefox installation has 3 add-ons loaded:
Live HTTP headers 0.15
Ubuntu Firefox Modifications 0.8
Web Developer 1.1.8

I tried disabling all but the Ubuntu Firefox Modifications, but the problem persists. It just makes it hard to read through the error console for tracking down some problems.

Any possible ideas here? This is terribly annoying...I thought a update to Namoroka would help since supposedly it doesn't need xulrunner. But I still can't stop the chrome scrimps from becoming unresponsive. I know it's not add-ons, I've loaded in safe mode and still received problems.

Script: file:///usr/lib/firefox-3.6.1pre/modules/XPCOMUtils.jsm:165
Script: chrome://global/content/contentAreaUtils.js:813
Script: chrome://mozapps/content/downloads/downloads.js:346
Script: chrome://global/content/config.js:136
Script: chrome://global/content/contentAreaUtils.js:910

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
