Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

I can use my MSN account with aMSN but I would like to use Pidgin.

It said that <email address hidden> disabled

Some forum told that it needs to reset Pidgin but I don't know how.
Would you please be so kind and advise?

There is usually some networking issue, or wrong account information involved when this happens.

Are you still able to reproduce the bug?
If so, please run pidgin in debug mode (pidgin --debug > ~/pidgin-debug.txt), reproduce, and attach the file it creates in your home directory. (feel free to mask sensitive information, if any).

Thanks.

I got the solution by change the password which exclude special character such as ! # and it work fine.

Ahh, ok
But do you think we can blame Pidgin for not handling special characters, or do you think the problem was on the other side of the net?
I see two possibilities here:
 a) The remote service hate special characters.
 b) Pidgin doesn't handle special characters, and sends a bad string.

What do you think?
