Bug Description

When I create a new panorama and add some photos to it, hugin no longer finds any connections (control points) between the images.
When I change Autopano to "Autopano (von A. Jenny)", I get the message

Couldn't open/tmp/ap_resRY6nJr0.otofor reading. This is a hint that Autopano couldn't be executed or a wrong commandline parameter was used.
Autopano command:""
 working directory:/tmp

(Actually I'm german so the message is
Konnte/tmp/ap_resRY6nJr0.otonicht zum Lesen öffnen. Dies ist ein Hinweis, daß Autopano nicht aufgerufen werden konnte
oder ein falscher Kommandozeilenparameter benutzt wurde.

Autopano Kommando:""
 aktuelles Verzeichnis:/tmp
)

Maybe my recent installation of qtpfsgui (via Synaptic packet manager) did something wrong: qtpfsgui refused to auto-align images with the hugin-tool, some error message was displayed, don't know if thats of any matter to this bug.

I tried to un- & reinstall hugin and autopano-sift, no effect.
Appeared on Up-to-Date 64 bit Ubuntu hardy

when i add control points by hand, the resulting panorama is an invalid tiff image of 8 bytes :-/

neither the deletion of ~/.hugin nor recompiling according to http://wiki.panotools.org/Hugin_Compiling_ubuntu had any effect, autopano still doesn't work - any suggestions?
When I run
autopano-complete
at the console it seems to work just fine.
In Hugin preference, the file dialogue for choosing the autopano-app seems to be broken, I can't choose any file, see Attachment

I was having the same problem and came across this bug, which fixed the problem (removing spaces from image file path): https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hugin/+bug/241500

Thanks, but I didn't start all of a sudden to insert spaces in the names of my images :-/

Anyway, I'll see if this all is obsolete in intrepid.

Now that Intrepid has been released, do you still have the problem?

Changed in hugin:
status: New → Incomplete

somewhat... I can now generate a valid tif as a result.
But when I load 3 images for a panorama, hugin tries to automatically find connections and the following message appears:

Kommando:autopano --maxmatches 20 /tmp/ap_resyeCh2Z
"/home/me/Desktop/fspot export/Gallery3/IMG_1429.JPG"
"/home/me/Desktop/fspot export/Gallery3/IMG_1430.JPG"
"/home/me/Desktop/fspot export/Gallery3/IMG_1431.JPG"
ist fehlgeschlagen mit Fehlercode:1

in english: "Command: [...] has failed with error code: 1"

Same goes for when I manually click the button to automatically find the connections

Hi,

Can you please try with the hugin version of my ppa: https://launchpad.net/~fabricesp/+archive

If it works, I will mark this bug report as duplicated of Bug #285674

Thank you very much for your help, but sadly it didn't do it.

Between my first report and my last reply, I was forced to re-install intrepid: I didn't change anything, just told ubuntu to use the "old" / and swap partition without formatting or deleting anything. But it did say it would remove all colliding system files (i.e. everything but /home/* ). After that, I had to reinstall hugin via Synaptics, so I think I have quite a clean version of it. I tried deleting ~/.hugin and _purging_ all packages with hugin in their names, but somehow I think that something still remained.
Is there any way to erase really all configuration files of hugin?

I attached a screenshot of the autopano-preferences, please tell me if anything seems to be wrong.

This is the same probllem as bug #162575

Correct parameters are there.

Cool, that did the trick :)

But shouldn't these preferences be set back to default when I delete ~/.hugin and purge the hugin package?

Thanks a lot

Try to install the version of my ppa ;-) It should set the correct parameters.

Like I said, I tried the package in your ppa, but it didn't help :-/

Anyways, thank you for your help :-)

I changed it 12 hours ago (version ppa4). Did you tried this?

Anyway, good to know it worked for you :-)
