calculator toggle not handled correctly on Windows

Bug Description
When toggling the calculator widget in Windows XP, it isn't be re-laid-out properly. Toggling it will leave the toggler in the same position, which is particularly bad if the toggler was at the bottom. Resizing the window will address the issue. Perhaps we need to resize one parent up?
Also it seems that, if hidden at startup, it takes two toggle clicks to show it, but then behaves fine afterwards.
