Bug Description

How to reproduce:

Assume your normal user is called A. Create another desktop user B. Swtich to this user B without logging out from user A. Open the CD tray and insert a video CD/DVD. If automatic playback is enabled, the video will be played back in the session of user A and in the session of user B. In my case I heart only the sound from session A even though I was in session B.

Additional notes:

I hope this is works as described above, because I experienced the behaviour after resuming from hibernate.

How to fix:

Disable auto-play feature for every session that is not the active session.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at [WWW] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I am assuming you mean the default video player? I am setting the package to totem since that is what we ship by default, please confirm that this is the player you are using, thanks!

Jorge - I think this is actually a Nautilus/GVFS bug, as it is Nautilus which is launching Totem when the media is inserted. Nautilus is auto-launching in all running sessions when media is inserted (not just the active one). This is also a duplicate of bug 222643
