Bug Description
Binary package hint: smplayer
mplayer, kaffaine, totem works OK, until Smplayer is installed. After installation every video player display has high saturation and contrast. If smplayer is installed before, which brings with itself mplayer too, the same problem arises. If both mplayer and smplayer is uninstalled, the problem remains.
May be manual change to XV parameters is required. But that is definetely unwanted, because of the number of combinations possibility.
Problem with both Ubuntu and Kubuntu 8.04.1.
Tried 4 times in ubuntu and twice in Kubuntu.

This is a problem fixed a long time ago.
This happened because by default smplayer passed options like -contrast 0 -brightness 0 -hue 0 and so on to mplayer. That should actually provide a good picture (it does in my computer) but some people reported high contrast or similar problems in the video. I guess this is due to a bad configuration of the settings in xvideo. (The problem happens only when using xv as video output)
As a workaround, newer versions of smplayer doesn't pass the -contrast and so on options to mplayer if their values are 0.
