KDE 3.5.9
Firefox 3.0
If I'm entering a bug report (this problem may include any text entry field) on a web page and I wish to select part of the URL in the address bar, the selection can sometimes miss the last character.
Steps to reproduce (I know this works)
Create a bug report.
Find another problem requiring another bug report.
You wan t to select "https:/
I've tried selecting the text with the mouse and keyboard, top to bottom and bottom to top - it happens 3 out of four times.
Carefully position your mouse cursor at the end of the last character of the text you wish to select.
If you leave the mouse at the end of the text you want to select after clicking the primary (in my case left) mouse button, the selection works as expected.
If you click and drag without waiting, it misses the last character.
Additional information:
I don't have the fonts set so small that I could miss a "g". The problem is real.
I'm pretty fast with a mouse, so you might think that I started moving the mouse before I clicked. If that were the case I would expect the selection to be wrong to varying degrees - not always one character.
When I used Fedora I maintained my Smolt database entry

I don't know if there is an equivalent in the Ubuntu world.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.
