Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-applets
Not sure if I got the right package. I didn't see "Shut Down..." listed in the Synaptic description for this package.
When I click the "Shut Down..." icon I added to the panel, I get the choices to "Restart" or "Shut Down", but both of these just restart gnome (same as ctl-alt-backspace). If I use the Options menu from the logon screen shut down and restart work correctly. Also the "Exit..." applet works on 8.04 on this hardware.
I don't know if Suspend and Hibernate work as they have never functioned correctly on my hardware (Sony VGN-CR120E).

Sorry about the dupe. One correction to the above. I tried suspend / hibernate for the first time since reinstall of alpha 2 / upgrades and suspend / hibernate now work :-). So the only problems are as described in this and bug #250009.
