Bug Description

Here are (from f-spot website) the hot points of 0.4.4 over 0.4.3 (available in hardy-updates).

    * various FullScreen enhancements: fading widgets, snapped on screen edges, ...
    * rating with hotkeys: use Alt-0 to Alt-5 in browse or edit mode to rate
    * reduce startup time by ~40%, depending on your db size
    * push back the "sort tag by popularity" feature removed on 0.4.3.1
    * choose the theme you prefer for f-spot, even switch theme without restart with gtk-sharp 2.12.2
    * reduce the verbosity of the output log. use --debug for full debugging output
    * migrate CDExport to gio for gnome 2.22
    * an insane amount of other fixes, new capabilities, updated translations and refactoring

Here is a debdiff of the backport. It's is straight, but needs gtk-sharp2-gapi, which is not backported yet, but I am willing to work on it.

For those that want to test the package, it is available on my ppa:
https://launchpad.net/~foxmike/+archive

To install, you will also need ruben ppa (I'm working to make gtk-sharp2-gapi directly available from my ppa):
https://launchpad.net/~ruben/+archive.

Jean.

Update:
Here is the debdiff of gtk-sharp2-2.12.1-1ubuntu1 backported from Intrepid. Backport was direct, no change needed (as with f-spot). Packages are sent to my ppa for anyone that wants to test them:
https://launchpad.net/~foxmike/+archive

Regards,

Jean.

It looks like this bug requests a backport from Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid
Ibex). However, as Intrepid is no longer supported, such a backport is
no longer possible.

This bug is being set to "Won't Fix". If you would still like to move
forward with this backport request, please re-open the bug and adjust
it to request a backport from a current release.
