Screen flickers and password window is not complete when testing screensaver

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install OS from Ubuntu Linux 8.04 CD and log to desktop.
2. Select "System"->"Preferences"->Screensaver".
3. Set the idle time, click "Activate screensaver when computer is idle" and "Lock screen when screensaver is active".
4. Select a dynamic screensaver and keep the Screensaver setting dialog open.
After the system enter screensaver at the setting time, the screen flickers, and password window is not complete.

Scott, can you please add some more details? What card is this happening with and what graphics driver? Is compiz running?
