Bug Description

I upgraded my laptop from hardy to intrepid and have some problems with the desktop effects:

Most effects just work, but all window switcher effects ("Box Switch", "Cover Switch" and "Flip Switch") do not work. Instead of showing the switcher the next window ist activated when alt+tab is pressed.

My laptop uses a Intel 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/9400ML Express Integrated Graphics Controller.

Sry. did not see the mails about your comments.

The bug still occurs. I don't have any window switcher although activated.

How exactly is this supposed to work if you don't turn on a window switcher effect? :P

As you can see the "Cover Switch" is activated. But pressing ALT+TAB just gives focus to the next window. There is no selection window, no effect, nothing.

Please test with Intrepid, this is most likely a driver glitch, and we blacklisted a lot in Intrepid.

I'm currently using Intrepid. Which drivers were blacklisted?

What can I do to improve the state of this bug? What additional info do you need?

I just discussed this problem on the German Ubuntuusers Forum and we found a solution.

Please open systemsettings -> window behaviour -> Tab "Activation"

Option "Show window list while switching" has to be activated and it may not be a "focus follows mouse" setting

The solution of activating the "Show window list while switching" in the window behaviour that Martin apported worked for me.

Thanks Martin
