Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

intrepid, gpm version 2.23.1-0ubuntu1

the gconf key battery_reduce is not set, but if I remove the AC, the brightness is reduced.
When I replug the AC the brightness is re-setted to the AC value, so this is ok.

I've just realized a thing: the problem still happens even if
gnome-power-manager is not running (version 2.24)

Please don't mark this as invalid, but help me in understanding who
dims the brightness

I've checked it myself, and the BIOS is responsible to dim the brightness to 0 when AC is removed.
This is very strange, but it's not ubuntu's fault.
Thanks
