Bug Description

It should be possible to select a language in the language selector and use it
instantly instead of having to log out and log in again first.

Thanks for your bugreport.

this is something pretty difficult (technically) that requires intrusive changes
all over the place. I don't think this can be done in short/medium term.

I see that this isn't available in Jaunty development, so I'll mark is as Confirmed rather than leaving it as New.

Changed in language-selector:
status: New → Confirmed

I don't see how this could be implemented. So far, every application
needs to be restarted after you change environment variables to get the
new settings working. That also counts for the running X session. So,
that's not an issue with language-selector at all.

Arne, I agree, but it's up to the developers/maintainer to decide to close this bug. Until then it is a lofty Wishlist item!
