Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

I have latest Hardy with latest updates. On my laptop the gnome-power-manager doesn't do any actions when critical tresholds for the battery charge are reached. It doesn't hibernate when action treshold is reached and it never reports that critical battery charge treshold has been reached. It ignores all the settings and does anything. This causes the laptop to work on battery until it dies causing possible data loss.

This is an unacceptable working condition because this bug can cause data loss so please check this issue or help me to resolve the problem.

I had Gutsy before and there gnome-power-manager has performed actions on critical battery charge conditions, for me this bug is introduced somehow by Hardy.

Thank you!

Now I installed kpowersave and it is performing actions on critical battery charge conditions without any problems. I now run both kpowersave and gnome-power-manager because I don't knwo how to deactivate gnome-power-manager. But if kpowersave can perform this important actions for laptop users gnome-power-manager should also be able to do it. So please check this issue as soon as possible because it is the most important function of the power saving software for laptop users.
