mount.nfs partially freezes my system

I have a NFS disk which is automounted. Randomly, when I run a script which access to this disk, my system partially freezes, ie. I cannot open new applications and the gnome panel is no more usable (clicking on it does nothing), but I can still use the already opened applications. I expect to not have my system freezing when I access to a NFS storage ;-)
