Hangs at kdm dialog after logout [Mobility V3200]

I can log in using kdm from intrepid once. After loging out again the kdm dialog is displayed again, but it no longer accepts mouse or keyboard events.

This might be a bug in the xserver: I am using a laptop with a ATI Mobility FireGL V3200 graphics card. It has been rather badly supported, but in intrepid all of a sudden claims to support openGL acceleration:-)

Most probably an xserver/driver issue. Moving the bug to xserver-xorg-video-ati for now.

conformed, keyboard and mouse are not working after loging out when using kdm. I am having intel G33 onboard graphics.

Kalyan, your bug is not the same, see bug 254840.

hunger, please test the latest packages, including the new hal that turned input-hotplug on.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. In the development cycle for Intrepid there have been some vast improvements in the open source ati video driver and we could use your help testing them. Could you please download the latest Alpha CD image of Intrepid and test this particular bug just using the Live CD? You can find the latest image at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . I cannot reproduce this with up-to-date Kubuntu Intrepid on HP nw8440 with ATI Radeon Mobility X1600

Thanks for letting us know the issue is resolved. hunger, if you get a chance to test Intrepid and find the issue is still present, please feel free to re-open and attach your latest /var/log/Xorg.0.log.
