firefox 3 crashes one out of five times when closing an open tab

I'm using ubuntu 8.04 and firefox 3, and about 20% of the times I close a tab (any tab) firefox crashes (a nuisance).
Luckily I have Opera installed too....

i think it crashes when one of the page is opening / loading, while trying to close another window / tab.
i think it got to do with the data storage for firefox 3
this crash is annoying, i think almost 30% of the time it happen..

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.
