Diablo freezes on boot if "sudo gainroot" appears in .profile

Bug Description
If "becomeroot" package is installed on Diablo including the following line in /home/user/.profile file will prevent the tablet from booting:
sudo gainroot
If this command is present in .profile the tablet will get stuck on the next boot - in my case the only remedy was to reflash.
I frequently need root privilegies while using the terminal, so to have a terminal window open with root access I added sudo gainroot to .profile
It took me a long process of trial and reflashing to get to the bottom of this behavior, which didn't occur on chinook.
