Bug Description

Binary package hint: dictd

Dict does not support using a pager. I discovered that this feature was removed by the Debian team when someone
complained that they didn't like dict opening less for its output. Removing the feature was overkill, and interferes with
my usage of dict. I use dict noninteractively and cannot simply pipe its output in all cases---I need dict to invoke a pager
itself. To resolve this, I think that the pager feature should be re-enabled and by default, the pager should be set to cat,
which will make it seem as though there is no pager, while people in my situation can set the pager to less.

Having the pager by default was extremely pleasant

This bug was fixed in the package dictd - 1.12.1+dfsg-8

---------------
dictd (1.12.1+dfsg-8) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Ignore errors of update-inetd --disable/--remove, as update-inetd has
    recently stared failing on missing /etc/inetd.conf (closes: #906420).
    This is not done for --add/--enable, basing on the assumption that if
    user selects inetd-mode only if inetd is already installed.
  * Standards-Version: 4.2.0.
