Bug Description

Network:

3 Stations:

1. Ubuntu Breezy share folder
2. Ubuntu Breezy client
3. Win2k

It looks like if you browse with nautilus you have to autentificate
twice. At the Master Browser and at the Worksstation itself.
The win2k does not have this behaviour.

It is not so bad but a lot of user are confused about that.
Espacially together with digital wallet.
... or in networks where the MBR changes often (wireless group)

O.K. i report it ...

but please promise that you do not solve it like Microsoft
... just copying the password in the clipboard ;-) ... this is so baaaaaaaaaaaaad

Best Regards
Michael

There is a patch available.

That should be applied to ubuntu packages..

Anyone working on this?

Upstream says this was fixed in 0.23, which we don't have yet.

This is a damn annoying bug.. please fix it in edgy! In fact this causes the "update notifier" not to work, it just asks for the password again and again..

FWIW, I'm pretty sure that the upstream bug https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3916 that was referenced is unrelated to this. That bug would only apply when using winbind for logins, unrelated to using nautilus to connect to remote servers.

But I've not seen this issue, and have never heard of needing to authenticate to a master browser just for browsing.
