Window titlebar is half visible (and half off the desktop) on opening a new window

Using Compiz 0.7.6
Newly opened windows are slightly displaced off the desktop towards the top/ As a result, the title bar is half cut-off from the desktop.

This is not a duplicate of bug 82654, as this isn't about the interaction with the gnome-panel.

Could you please try testing with Compiz 0.7.8, available since Intrepid release? If the problem still occurs, please try using the default human theme to rule out problems specific to your theme, which seems to have a large titlebar. Thanks for your report.

I am seeing problems where the titlebar doesn't get properly repainted. I'm using focus follows mouse and will attach a list of packages I'm using as well as an image of the problem I'm seeing.
