Hello,
thanks for you bug report. Does it crashes with an error message ? If so, please paste it here.
Could you also try to get a backtrace of the crash ? You can find the required information on how to get a backtrace here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace

Cheers

libxcb1-dbg libxcb1-dev won't have any actual effect, as they are debug symbols and development files, they shouldn't be required. The fact that you are using compiz might also be the cause of the issue. Have you tried *without* libxcb-composite0 and without compiz ?

Cheers

well it's true on the theory but on the practice it's not so ,

because when i have installed kubuntu i have tested :

1 no compiz WITHOUT composite0 =crash

2 no compiz WITH composite0 before updating* =no crash ; after updating = CRASH

3 no compiz WITH composite and WITH other 2 libraries and it doesn't crash

4 WITH compiz WITH those packages = NO crash

so as you can see from this that packages are required , i don't know what library or files they install but they fix problem with and with and without compiz...on kubuntu other users have tested and they , in ubuntu , require to disable compiz

*updating
installed compiz, because in kubuntu is not installed by default and other software kernel updating etc etc

this works in my computer

but if i use recordmydekstop compiz and kdenlive i get a crash

to get it works i have used kdelive like root

so i have :

sudo apt-get install libxcb-composite0 libxcb1-dbg libxcb1-dev

then if i use recordmydestop and compiz i have to run in this way

kdesudo kdenlive

if i don't use recordmydestkop i can run it like normal user :)

Kubuntu Hardy is no longer supported. If this is still an issue in more recent versions of Kubuntu, feel free to reopen this bug.
