Bug Description

uname -a : Linux laptop 2.6.24-19-server #1 SMP Wed Jun 18 15:18:00 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

/etc/lsb-release:
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 8.04.1"

echo $0: bash

To protect me from my own mistakes I thought it would be nice to alias the commands rm, mv, and cp and each time ask for interaction. This is when I noticed that the commands mv -i and cp -i actually ignore the -i. I've tested it with --interactive but the same here. There is no problem for rm.

I tested it in a vm, on my desktop computer and my laptop and all gave the same result back.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, cp -i and mv -i ask you only before overwrite (see man cp and man mv), so this is not a bug.
