Firefox 3 doesn't accept coookies in the right way

Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
When loggin on on PHPBB 2 and 3 Firefox will run in an end-less loop at the user-id password screen.
Accept cookies is on in the Preferences. I have checked the accepted cookie list and the two fora's of which I am a member have several cookies listed.
I don't understand this.
