Bug Description

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

The package flashplugin-nonfree version 10.0.1.218+10.0.0.525ubuntu1~hardy1
available through hardy-backports crashes Firefox 3.0 in many common websites.

These crashes happen with or without libflashsupport version 1.9-0ubuntu2~hardy1
installed, also available through hardy-backports.

Popular websites that crash 100% of the time:
(I will add more as I remember/find them.)

The Dilbert site, including the animated strips, does not crash Firefox for me - it works perfectly. Using the flashplugin-nonfree 10.0.1.218+10.0.0.525ubuntu1version in Intrepid with Firefox 3.0.

I had crashes with this site:

http://weblog.infoworld.com/ittroubleshooter/archives/2007/09/remember_when_m.html

after the site loaded, if I scrolled down to the bottom, it would crash before I got there.

Ironically, I also had crashes going to this site:
