Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdm
Possible related to the following:
1. gdmgreeter was configured to be "Themed with *face* browser"
2. I use autofs to mount a couple of remote user home directories
autofs mounts these home directories in /rhome
I setup up symlinks in /home/foo -> /rhome/foo
3. When gdmgreeter started the remote user directories were unavailable, autofs would have kicked in but not mounted /rhome/foo leaving /home/foo sym-link unresolved
Furthermore,
1. deleting the /home/foo symlink and restarting gdm works
2. configuring gdmgreeter to "Themed" (no *face* browser) works
