Bug Description

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

When I try to add e-mail addresses to gmail in epiphany, upon submission the e-mail address is not saved. Other contact information, such as the person's name, does get saved, but I haven't, truth be told, experimented with the other fields yet. But the being able to enter the e-mail address is crucial. It does, by the way, work in firefox (in Ubuntu).

I installed epiphany via Synaptic and I'm running Ubuntu Hardy Heron, 8.04, with AMD 64 architecture.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

Thank you for your reply! Sure, I can supply that information. I logged into my Gmail, and clicked the + button to add a contact. I entered in the name, the e-mail address, and the telephone number of the contact (just now I tried to enter EmperorLinux, for example). When I clicked the save button, only the name of the contact (e.g. EmperorLinux) was saved. The e-mail address and phone number did not appear. Trying again and again does not change the result.

I'm not sure what category falls under (as far as debugging is concerned, and I am new to linux), as, other than this problem with GMail, Epiphany is perfectly functional.

If there's anything else I can add, I'm not sure what it is, except that I'm using Xubuntu 8.04.1 now and the result of trying to add contact information in Epiphany is identical to entering in Epiphany using Ubuntu 8.04.1.

We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

No, this is no longer an issue with the latest Ubuntu. Thanks for looking into this, glad it's no longer keeping me from using Epiphany!
