Bug Description

Binary package hint: ecryptfs-utils

The ecryptfs-utils build should not depend on libltspi.

libltspi is a library provided by trousers for interfacing with on board TPM (trusted computing) hardware.

libopencryptoki-dev is a library that deals with some cryptographic accelerator hardware.

The ecryptfs-utils debian/control file oddly requires libtspi-dev and libopencryptoki-dev for the i386 architecture only. This is not necessary.

I'm filing an MIR for ecryptfs-utils and this unneeded build dependency would require bringing trousers, freetype1, and opencryptoki into main.

I have emailed Debian about dropping (or softening) the build dependency as well, such that we can remain in sync on this package.

Note that it would be very good to add support for trousers in main, however, it's not necessary at the moment and it should not delay including ecryptfs-utils into main.

Patch updated to remove opencryptoki build dependency as well. Not needed either.

Alternatively, we could include these two libraries into main. The MIRs are here:

Debdiff is to 50-1, but we have 50-3ubuntu1 already. Unsubscribing UUS. Please either invalid the bug or update the debdiff and resubscribe UUS.

Debian has decided not to fix this.

For now, I will pursue the necessary MIRs. If those are refused for good reason, I will reopen this bug.
