Unable to Mount CD at Install

Bug Description

I'm trying to install Ubuntu Build 5.10 (Breezy Badger) on an old Gateway
machine. This box already has Ubuntu installed, apparently a preview release of
Breezy Badger which worked fine.
The drive the install media is unable to mount is an HP CD-Writer Plus! 7200 Series.
I've used this install media on a Compaq Presario and it installed perfectly.

Does the bug still exist in the latest version of (k)ubuntu, Dapper Drake 6.06.1 ? Please try Dapper and give us an update if you can. Thanks.
