Firefox 3.0 freezes Ubuntu 8.04 at random when visiting sites.

When visiting sites Firefox 3.0 totally freezes my Ubuntu 8.04 system. I have disabled some of my addons that I have installed recently, but that seems to not have worked. I need help as this is driving my crazy!

Can you reproduce freeze with using another software ?

Because getting a system freeze while using firefox seems strange. Could be a video driver problem ?

No, it doesn't happen anywhere else, only Firefox 3.0. I forgot to mention that I installed the restricted ATI drivers, but am not sure if this is the problem. Hmm, this has got me puzzled.

BTW, I am using Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS if you would like more information.

Same problem here.
I have firefox 3.04 (ubuntu repos) and on some sites its very slow with scrolling and loading.
I have a GeForce 8600M GT.

This site doesnt only scroll slow but freezes my whole laptop for a couple of seconds (10/15 sec).
